Action plan

What can the Nepal Fund bring to a project?

  • Expertise
  • Skills
  • Investors and micro credit
  • One-off subsidies in the form of capital funding intended for the initial costs.
To do so the Nepal Fund works together with partners, companies and individuals wishing to participate financially, who have already earned their spurs working on diverse development programmes. Once an NGO has put forward a village that the Nepal Fund management team thinks meets the preconditions, we draw up an inventory and a specific master plan for the village. With support from the NGO, students of management or agriculture then carry out this work on the spot. Next a panel of experts assesses the master plan and approves of it and its financing. Then we work out an investment plan. The Nepal Fund proceeds to gather the essential financial means after which, under expert guidance, actual realisation of the master plan can take place. Examples of the aims in the master plan could be:
  • Adaptation of or renewal of agricultural and/or cattle breeding methods
  • Building and installing pumps
  • Setting up cooperatives including training and schooling
  • Introducing better teaching methods.
