Logo

The logo expresses both the cultural ties to Nepal and the aim of the Nepal Fund

  1. The elephant represents the god Ganesh, the god of knowledge and wisdom. He removes all obstacles and is the patron of travellers. Hindus pray to Ganesh before starting on something new.
  2. His right hand is raised with the palm of the hand towards the onlooker as a sign of reassurance, blessing and protection.
  3. In his left hand he holds a sphere symbolising lovingly offered gifts such as openness and respect.
  4. In the 'o' of Nepalfonds we can discern the symbols of the 'sun' and the 'moon', as in the flag of Nepal.
